A frantic fish swam along the shoal
seeking one small fish-sized hole

Fragile, agile, fleet of fin
on the outside looking in

Dash, splash, flap-flap
squeezed into a tiny gap

Still so flustered, calming down
in a tin can shelved in town...

I eat a lot of them. Miss Lori, but this is the first time I stopped between bites to consider their plight.

I like carrots too, but sometimes, when it's quiet, I can hear them screaming...
Damn "carrot-tops" are all alike!
