What face did you assume at his departure, Miss Toxica,
as you stood there shivering in the moonís penumbra?
Iím sorry I wasnít there to see you, or to pay my respects

I only know your body was always a symbol to me, something that carried you
like the case of a Stradivarius or the colorful jacket of a precious book,
more beautiful when it lays open and exposed to the world

He left few, if any hours in your eyes, I know, Miss Toxica, only metal for the earth
I recall you stepping out of my life in a dress of blazoned copper
to a man who melted you down and took one hundred hammers to your heart

Now, as shadows appear once more, Miss Toxica, the wind blows your skirted legs my way
You play me like Antonioís finest violin in perfect tune and you know Iíve an ear for you
So play on, Miss Toxica, Ďtil the angel of death applauds from the wings

...just bein' Bluesy

Where do you come up with this stuff? Your mind just never quits. You've always a story to tell with an interesting angle and uncommon words to boot. Never know what I'm going to wake up to, it is always a pleasant (even if a tear jerker) surprise. ~L

A dearest poet friend of mine had the username of "Toxica The Platypus". I used to call her "Miss Toxica", but her real name was Sharon.

Thanks, Miss Lori, for your sweet comment.
