Sylvia Plath & The Rainfall Lovers of Spring

Let she who laughs like a rain storm
carve her dice from my bones
threadbare at dawn
'neath my Clash t-shirt, slashed n' torn
you'll find this heart in a dreamy doze
crafting a morning song

And if I'm a lucky sunny day
maybe he'll leave this town
for me to reign
build a bridge to the words you say
mightily unbend every little frown
see you shine again

'Cause I'm ready to try
to charge this chamber door
like a melody you can't deny
The Beatles on the box, your folk records on the floor
and inside the caverns of your sigh
tonight the traces are blue
and I'm looking for a reason to chase the open sky
find the right color combination for you

Let she who cries like a spring squall
find sanctuary inside my mind
wide-eyed tonight
'neath the underpass we'll echo the call
for freedom from heartache in our time
stumbling back into light

Now watch this hypnotic watch o' love
as it swings back and forth
until you see me
and a jalopy heart I hope will be enough
hey baby for whaddevah it's worth
my new poetry
should arrive by dove
just when you're ready for me
watch out from above
I'm gonna be
the chemical property you need
to add a weighty sum to your life
dull the knife
kill the stabbing night
let me hear you laugh like a rain storm
baby you carve yourself a place to keep warm
right here inside of me
inside of me
inside of me, inside of you
like a diamond in the rough
just the stuff
to make all my dreams come true
flip to the b-side and croon
like Sinatra on LSD

I've read them both a few times now ~ Each time finding a new sweet piece  of imagery...of passion. Beautifully and tenderly penned Soul Drifter from start to finish ~ So enjoyed reading them
