My memory is failing.
I suppose I am of that age
where this starts to happen.
I donít like it.
Dementia and Alzheimers
runs in the family.
I donít care to have
early onset of either.
That is why Iím not
getting it checked out.
Smart, right?
Iíll do something about it
when I get lost on the way to work.
In the meantime,
when I canít recall a conversation
with my husband,
(he says I donít listen.)
Iíll just assume he is mistaken.

So it seems that when you're younger and really busy, your mind is being 'trained' throughout the day and the memory's 'filing system' is naturally more efficient.
When things slow down a little as you get older, well then...so does the 'system'.

That being said, if you ever do "forget how to get to work", ya, Miss Lori, it's time for a chat.

Sorry to hear this . . . I lost my way from my doctor's office back home, Lori. I have it pretty bad.

Bluesy,
I have no sense of direction, so I get lost pretty easy anyway. I'm not to that point with to and from work-I can do that with my eyes closed (sometimes I do) ~L

Oh Jerry I'm so sorry to hear that. That must have been upsetting. I'm not having that much trouble yet, knock on wood. ~L

It doesn't run in my family but I think it scares us all as we get older.

It is scary to think about for sure. My Mom had Dementia as I cared for her and both of my Aunts had/have it too. All we can do is try to keep our minds busy and pray for the best Nicely penned Lori Lou ~ Huggerz

Pinkbraincells,
I keep hoping that writing poetry is good stimulation for the old noggin and is saving my brain from turning to rotting mush from watching TV. ~L
