Days of Dharma

Days of blue
days of gold
nights blue-black like a wound
she repositioned the dawn's light in her room
and she moved without a sound
days of Dharma coming down

Skies thunder
skies pour rain
into the depths of a heart
and she awoke from her dream with a start
the cold kept her company
days of Dharma unraveling

Somedays maybe Sundays the sun's rays show
a glint in the pearl of her life off-white like snow
sometimes even sunshine has one time to dance
a girl of autumn spun red and gold takes a chance
a May through September love like a ballerina unwound
days of Dharma coming down

Eyes of blue
eyes ablaze
the shattering of a soul
she is shaped by the arms that didn't hold
dreaming by necessity
days of Dharma in reverie

One day maybe Monday she'll run away free
a flaw in her plan on her search for identity
some say there's only one way and one play to go
a girl of winter threadbare in the afterglow
a May through September love is just bones in the ground
days of Dharma coming down

Dharma
the sound of her name
lost in translation
karma
her heartbeat plays a refrain
her smile bent in frustration
the muscle memory of a frown
days of Dharma coming down

Days of blue
days of gold
nights blue-black like a wound
she repositioned the dawn's light in her room
and she moved on without a sound
days of Dharma coming down

Days of Dharma coming 'round

Enjoyed your poetry, SD, and left it with a favorite line among the many you wrote so eloquently:
quote:
"a girl of winter threadbare in the afterglow"
Much to absorb and ponder over.

...just bein' Bluesy

Thank you Bluesy. Occasionally we're all threadbare in the afterglow.
Thanks.
