There in front of me the hill sits, open like a poetís notebook,
devoid of any writing, merely awaiting some wandering words of inspiration

The early morning mistsí presently obscure the fleeting view,
as my mind tries to hold back the voice of my own awareness

What was once familiar to me, is now without form or function
All that was unfamiliar is now but a hint of its former self

With the exception of the distant skyward church spire
only the cabinís chimney points to the vault of heaven, high above my head

Ever so slowly, this constantly changing hill begins to clear,
revealing all itís many secrets and beauty, on this fresh Spring morning

The hillís mystical allure rests in many shades of green, interlacing with the cool blue sky
All this, so perfectly pieced together by the warm glow of the morning sun

...as I wait now, still as a rust-frozen hinge

This is beautiful! Your imagery...well, let's just say I'd have been proud to have written that. And your ending, well I can't think of a better one. I really like this one too. ~L

You're so very kind, Lori Rhoden. I'm happy to hear you got over what had you down.

Be well...always
