Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2017-12-09 07:17 AM

I’m not religious.
I grew up Episcopalian.
I talk to God often
to say thank you
and I’m sorry.
I consider myself
to be spiritual.
Which for me means,
that WWJD is too confining.
It is a perfect mantra for life
However, it doesn’t,
in my mind, encompass everything.
So I like to meditate upon WWGD.
I have often said there is only
one God.
But that there are as many different Gods
as there are different minds to perceive Him.
And therein lays humanities rub.
But this time of year that we have chosen
to celebrate the birth of the Christ child,
takes me back to my roots in the Church.
If you have never rejoiced in a miracle,
the ultimate gift of love and peace.
Then, just once, I suggest you do.

...well said, if not profoundly so, Miss Lori. That goes for your poem in its entirety. Could almost hear your voice speaking it.

Oh thank you so much Bluesy! I just love it when someone thinks I've said something profound. Makes it easier to serve up a heaping pile of BS the next time. No, seriously, thank you for not finding me politically incorrect etc. ~L

Hmm...

Even "BS" ( not me   ) can be 'profound' when properly served. Sometimes you can even become a president of something or other...if you get really good at it, that is!

Hmmm, I think I could not live that way having to sustain myself eating s**t. Though I have downed my fair share over the years.

Pinkycarol,
There are certain hymns and carols that always bring that feeling back. Rejoice indeed. ~L
