King Midas may have missed his chance with wine,
sitting ignorant and smiling among the divine

But we stood tall, babe, even when we were crawling
now content with it all, no longer searching for something

Ah! Sweet bliss in our blue-tinted bottle!
I’ll shake it happily to awaken our sons!

Because tonight, my darling, you and I
will make dirty ash-trays look like diamonds!

Bluesy,
Here is a line that is so you:

"Because tonight, my darling, you and I
will make dirty ash-trays look like diamonds! "

This is why you are so good to read.   ~L

You're very kind, Lori Rhoden, and I do so appreciate what you've said. But right now, you and I are all there is to read! Ha-Ha!

Really though, my sincere thanks, doll!

Oh! My dear Miss Pinky! I've done you a grave injustice! A thousand pardons for uttering such a foul and contemptible remark! I well deserve every flare of your beautiful dark eyes, the violent swish of your silky, raven-sheened hair as you turn away from me sharply in your disgust, disdain, and despairing.

May I lay shallow in a potters field for an eternity of sorrows and shame for what I've done to such a lovely poetess who has never breathed an unkind word.

With Regrets and Remorse, Forever Your Slave,

Bluesy

Um...could I renegotiate that "slave" business, Miss Pinky? I'm a coward at heart and sometimes find myself 'pickled'. You could 'doozy' me though, as long as it doesn't hurt too much!

Thanks for letting me 'off the hook'. Does this mean I can have Brenda back?
