Was feelin' in a bakin' mood Decided to ring in some cheer Set my sights on a rum fruit~cake But all I could find was some beer! I frantically searched the cupboards Oh well, it's no catastrophe I'll pretend I'm Betty Crocker Just whip up my own recipe! I cracked open a chilled brewski Let it set so it could get flat Gathered my flour, fruit and nuts Mixed it up and that was that! My mouth was feelin' kinda parched That brew was lookin' mighty fine I meant to take just a slight sip Instead ended up taking nine! Oops better break out another The first one seemed to disappear Better open up the next one And try not to keep it so near Went to the fridge for some butter Grabbed a few eggs from the tray Gathered up all of my spices Chugged the open beer on the way Oh no there goes yet another I'd best slow down just a wee bit Or the Christmas tree out yonder Won't be the only thing that's lit! Well the moral of this fruity tale Is as simple as it can be Make sure you've got your ingredients And NEVER bake while you're THIRSTY!!! © Poet In Pink |
