Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2017-11-17 10:30 PM

I’m exhausted.
But the bed says
you’re not here.
So I procrastinate.
I have a little more
of what I’ll regret
in the morning.
I try to write.
Sometimes I fall out
in my recliner,
computer on my lap
keeping my legs warm.
Maybe that is why
I fall asleep so easy
in the recliner in your room,
it feels like home…
You’re watching TV
and I’m snoozin’
beside you.
You don’t want me
to stay up late
and I prefer
headin’ to bed
half past eight.
But I can’t sleep
on this heavy heart,
I need to lay the load
down on paper.
You worry enough
for both of us,
to add mine
to yours
would swamp your boat.
I need you to stay afloat.

This part sums up the whole perfectly, Lori Rhoden.

Take the rest of the night off... with pay.

I did Bluesy, I got paid in poppy seed muffins my daughter made. Thank goodness she has been here to hold down the fort and let the dog out. Meanwhile this business of putting on my big girl panties and adulting at the hospital has gone better than expected. ~L

The prayers are appreciated. One got answered today. They discovered today that they had been giving him 1/2 of his reg. pain med. dose. So now that they have doubled his pain meds he is feeling better.
