Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2017-11-10 06:20 PM

Used to be that I would look forward to
the holidays and decorating.
If you tried to tell me then
about my lack of enthusiasm now,
I would have said you’re crazy.
There is nothing worse than a humbug!
I wish I knew how to get some of that
excitement back without the anxiety.
As close as I can get is when I write.
I go back and embrace those feelings
and put them on paper.
Paper is safe
and oh so forgiving.
It is also quiet
and unassuming.
It has no needs
It is always a perfect fit.
It neither complains
nor criticizes.
It simply waits on me
to do as I please
with nary a thank you
from me.

I feel the very same way as do you. Bah Humbug indeed!

Somewhere tonight, Lori Rhoden, a tree is screaming...but not the one your paper came from. It's already cashed.

I had a tree comb once. I don't think I'll ever get over it.

enuff with the guilt already you tree hugger!
My "paper" these days is a blank document on the computer. A tree comb? never heard of it.
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.

Just a comb made from wood, Miss Lori. **sniffles** Thank you for your sympathies. I'll be alright...it just hurts some to talk about it.

You can imagine how I feel living in this refrigerator box under the bridge. Thank the stars for WIFI!

Pinkypaper,
I like a blank screen and lined paper. I can't write in a straight line to save my soul. When I was in high school, my creative writing class kept journals on Big Chief writing tablets. They were great. I don't even know if they still make them. ~L

Bluesy,
I'm so upset to hear about your living situation. I'm getting a new washer and dryer set soon. I will send you the boxes to add on to your cramped living quarters. Well, this certainly explains why you have such a wonderful love life...on paper. Keep up the great work.   ~L

That's just grand, Miss Lori! Now I can install the bay window I've always wanted! Besides the one developing near my waistband, that is...

P.S You can forget all those 'tree huggin' cracks too. With two appliance boxes, you've redeemed yourself! Thanks!

Bluesy,
you are sooo silly! And you know how I feel about silly. Thank so much for making my day!
