Fair to middlin' of nowhere

A Poet’s heart often engages
in tugs of war,
that other hearts do not.
We are in tune to the emotions
of others and our own.
We read of love and broken hearts,
the bittersweet and sublime.
We hurt for the lonely hearts,
wishing them to be whole.
The happy hearts we wish
were ours to keep.
The sad we would console.
A part of us can’t help but
want the sweet words to be
meant for us.

Very succinctly put, Lori Rhoden. Your talent for expressing what you understand in life is astounding. I might just have easily quoted the entire poem.

Bluesy,
you are much too kind. Astounding? you make me blush. I'm happy you found it to be of logical reasoning and let me know.  As I was writing I was kind of afraid I was the only one that felt that way. ~L

LyricFetish,
Thanks for letting me know I was on the right track. I was telling Bluesy I wasn't for sure it wasn't just me. ~L
