I see sleep combing the hair of passion

Words becoming cannons of power

Dangers came thru that torn front door

Along with some voice of temptation

But the Metaphysical rules ingrained

and I

Ate them like a drum that beats

In the ear of life, and reason

Oh Spirit of time, releases new metaphors

Even though roads grow long grey thoughts

Theology speaks in our decomposed minds

Free-will is the order of nature purified

Suffering begins a new clean boulevard

It is a poor thing to refuse old books

To ignore those landscapes is to

Corrode in the moments of time

Where rumors stumble into fixed tomorrows

Blending with a gaze of ancient songs

Long formulas of teaching

How the last night of longing begins

Old hearts dream of courage
while combing the hair of passion

Old books. My forte! I derived an education by the way of old books, Lee. Thank you.
