Deep unavoidable puddles
from the drenching downpour
swallow my sandaled feet
as me and my umbrella
and my purse
and my blue plaid lunch tote
and my large
French vanilla cappuccino
splash  into work this morning.
Driving in on the highway’s
pelting low visibility,
made my mouth dry.
I stop in at the local Casey’s
for my morning indulgence.
After returning the “Good morning!”
from behind the counter,
I grab a large coffee cup,
put in about six ice cubes,
then put in the Cappuccino.
My Cappuccino is always
the perfect temperature
for taking a long drink
right away.
Ahhh, perfection to be swallowed
at every red light.
A creamy deliciousness that calms
the growling in my tummy
and sips me through my morning.

We're aways from any 'red lights', but there is a flashing yellow light about a half a mile down the lake road. I still remember what they look like, though.

...just bein' Bluesy

I think we have 2, maybe 3 stop signs where I live. And two new 30 mph speed limit signs.
However we no longer have a pop machine. I live about 15 miles from work and civilization, most of that is highway. I just love winter driving, NOT! ~L
