flirting2

A bird stops in its flight midair to gaze
outside the fringes of a patio lamp
transfixed and still, it seems to be seduced
entranced by something elusive inside

I do not indulge nor spend time to bask
in the luxury of getting spellbound
be awed at unfathomed depths of wonder
I wallow at my life's tattered loose ends

afloat dazed in my own internal waves
like wind spinning leaves in a mad circle
I walk around apathetic, detached
from cuddling fantasies and unreal dreams

I envy the bird its fascination
hovering from the outside looking in
like a moth that flutters around a flame
oblivious of danger, flirting with it.

I hear you. Sometimes we have had enough "stuff" going on that we just don't have room for anything else. We lose our desire to engage the good things. It is hard to just be and breathe and know that in the big scheme of things everything is alright. Been there a million times and back again. Too bad you don't get frequent flier miles, I'd take a trip somewhere. Hang in there Lady and remember the Universe is on your side.  ~L

We also some times get in rut we don't even realize we're in. One that nobody on the 'outside' bothers to bring up, whether fearing retribution, or just don't feel comfortable with the saying.

Sometimes, we need outside help to help us realize we are in that rut.  So, it's not always 'us'.

Watching the humming birds has different things to different people. I don't make anything out of it except the complete fasination of the humming birds seemingly effortless wonder of its ability to stay in one placce as it hovers maybe to check out if there any danger around.
