Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Sometimes I wonder about him.
I think he has lost his mind
when he asks me if “We’re okay?”
“Of course we’re okay” I say,
all the while wanting
to clunk him in the head.
He has been sick and miserable
for a year with cancer.
Grumpy doesn’t begin
to describe it.
It is awful.
No, we are not okay.
But I am here
for the long haul.
We will see it through
to okay again.
Even if I have
to prove my love
with a clunk
to your head.

Love is an aluminum skillet whereas love's more negative antithesis is made of cast iron.

Choose wisely, Lori Rhoden.

If you are referring to the clunking it would be more of a rhetorical weapon I would wield.
Words are mightier than the sword. Besides, he is so hard-headed I wouldn't want to hurt myself. ~L

Heh.Heh I realize this is nothing to laugh at but your words are. Hoping he will come out of this very, very soon.

Very soon is not in the cards. It could take years for his saliva and taste buds and appetite to return to "normal". He needs to quit hyper focusing on where he is not at yet and instead be happy he is alive. His negative attitude is making everything doubly hard on himself. I can only do so much. ~L

I hear love and devotion in your words dear Lori Lou ~ I imagine he is still feeling insecure about everything still...After all he was facing the possibility of no hope at all for his condition. No doubt some of   those old fears are still plaguing him.  You can only continue to give your love and care and compassion and hopefully in time he will come to terms with things.  I can tell through your writing that you are a very wonderful lady ~ He is blessed to have you in his corner     Pinky

Pinkyperson,
Thank you so much. I hate to complain, but sometimes I have to vent a little. Thanks for reminding me being unhappy with the situation doesn't mean I don't care and am not trying to make it better in what little ways I can. ~L
