Im bad at writing poetry This I can attest I have no idea how to form a verse Or know what a stanza is Someone told me once Rhyming is the way But if you have a word like purple Nothing rhymes with that To wrack my brain in pondering How to write the best I need to open a thasaurus Will I even past this test? Poetry is not my forte English was my worst I do remeber some things tho Like refrain, trochee and verse I guess I have figured out the verse part That was simple enough But other things like foot or quatrain I have no idea as I was out sick that day So here I am trying my hand At something I fear will be bad I wrote this in less than ten minutes For a bad poetry contest my work place had. |

I, too, think you did quite well, my friend . . . you definitely rhyme much better than I, since I can't rhyme anything at all! by the way ... "thasaurus" should be "thesaurus" I believe. j. |

Rhyme If you write a poem The words you have to find You had best be knowing An orange has a rind Plums are nice when tender I prefer them purple Then you may remember Purple rhymes with Turtle Best wishes Michael |
