I looked around expecting fire,
Saw none and wasn't scared by half;
Expected a funeral pyre,
In the hall two people did laugh.

A man and woman I could tell,
She sounded like a newborn calf;
He muttered a name, said do tell,
In the hall two people did laugh.

This poem is like a riddle, and you do a good job of raising lots of questions in your audience's mind. I'll place a safe bet that it's got to do with ghosts again. Although I do think it also has to do with how preconceived or projected fears sometimes turn out to be harmless things. Enjoyed.
