True Love Shall Last
[what a poet must believe]

Though blossoms of
Spring fall victim to
each capricious breeze;
the bright-rainbow leaves
of Autumn fade far too soon
to November grey;
the lovely warmth of
"Indian Summer"
to Winter's bleak despair;
our finest dreams of youth
melt as castles in the sand;
a thousand of our grandest
hopes and fantasies shape
themselves but vanish in a
moment lost;
and even the mountains
through ‘Deep-Time’ flow,
like clouds and mist
from form to form,
then go …
a poet must believe,
though little stands,
that true Love shall last!

Your romantic side is front and center within the lines of this poem, Bruce. It is well constructed, showing your heart and soul.

Thank you for the lovely comment on this, my latest li'l "word-painting!" ...

As an 'incurable' idealist and Romanticist ...
I have to believe that after each heartbreak,
we have two paths from which to choose ...
either toward 'bitter' or 'better' ...

we can choose to allow our heart to 'grow back'
bigger each time ... with more capacity for tolerance,
understanding, empathy/compassion, and Love !
