A pomegranate sunset Sashays its way Across cinnamon shaded sands Of the sleepy~eyed desert Off in the distance Playful little dirt~devils Swirl and twirl haphazardly As they engage in a game of tag Magenta flowering cacti Heave a big sigh of relief Happily welcoming a reprieve From the suns scorching rays Small colorful critters Venture out of hidey holes Scurrying and slithering about In search of evenings pot~luck A gentle zephyr Lollygags across the plain Singing a soothing lullaby In wait of the moons embracing luminance A Desert Dusk To Remember © Poet In Pink |
