Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2017-06-20 06:32 AM

She had grown weary
and the world
had lost its wonder.
She had lost track
of the day of the week
and the time of day.
Every day was so much the same,
only the winds were different.
She sat out the day
with her eyes shut
praying for the oblivion of sleep
to speed the hours passing.
Well aware of all the time wasted,
she shrugged off things to do.
She never said she felt like screaming.
She saves them for her dreaming.
Lonely and bored to tears
she awoke well before dawn
to put some thoughts to paper.
She gathered her gloom
and expressed it quite clearly.
But she left out the part
about sinking in quick sand.
And added an upbeat ending
so no one would worry.

That's such a courageous lady you're writing about. May her tribe increase. But I can still feel her pain though she may be smiling through it all  so "no one would worry"

JJ,
I'm so surprised the word "courageous" came to your mind about this lady. That is about the last word she would use to describe herself. Thanks for the compliment. ~L

Thank you Jerry. Again not a response I was expecting for my "morning whine". ~L

I just like very much how you pay attention to detail, Lori.

Pinkaboo,
Thanks, I seem to be doing writing with a little more therapeutic wang to it these days. Letting a few bats out of the belfry. ~L
