always said
before I get stuck
inside a nursing hone
I’d walk in front of a
big diesel truck
eh . . .
way things are going
it won’t be much longer
to make good
of my thoughts
eh (again)
thing is
I don’t want to leave
this old earth
never understood
those who clung onto life
no matter
how wracked with pain
they were in
though I am not wracked with pain
(yet)
I have my problems
and where it used to take
years for things to change
for the worst
these days is seems
to be an everyday occurrence
don’t know what lies ahead for me
(well, that isn’t totally true)
I DO know pretty much what lies ahead
what I do not know on this
eighteenth day of June 1917
is how I will react
will I step in front of that semi?
probably not
I assume I will cling to life
as most of us do
this not a morbid write
just something I needed to get off my chest
so I did
now it is over
bon voyage, y’all

You really are most kind to share your inner most thought with us concerning this time in your life...This is a time (as you well know)that is hard to look at. Even though we will all be lucky to live so long as to share this experience with you. Thanks for the frank look in the mirror. ~L

Thank you, Lori. It is people such as you that I share my innermost thoughts with. Besides, most of my poetry is self-mandated. Thank you again.

Aw Jerry, don't say BON voyage yet, nothing's over till it is, so do come peek at PIP , won't be the same without you. But all the same, I'm sure though your journey may have been without any bumps and cracks on the road, just hold on to the good times and SMILE.

Ah, the bon voyage was just something I threw in there. Too early for me to be thinking anything else. Thank you, jjote for your sweet thoughts.

Hello Jerry Sometimes life calls for a lil' rant or two ~ Hope this one made you feel better ~ I am new here, but I have read some of your earlier posts and I see the comments you leave for others...I don't think you are a quitter by any means Besides you have a lot more happy to spread around! What is that saying? When the going gets tough, the tough get going! That is you     Happy Sunday ~ Alana

Ahhh, Alana, how you talk. You could charm a rattlesnake. Thank you big time for dropping by today.
