I envy her insouciant flair
smiling on top of her world
a journey into the unknown
arms spread like an eagle
owning the space.
Under the grasp of noon light
carefree, defenses all peeled off
she is not intimidated by cliffs
hemming her in with no success
she is in control.
I would love to be soaked likewise
on a summer day as this, where life
holds no promise of thunderstorms
close my eyes and make believe
I too am in control
