Visions of your smiling face Play lovingly in my mind As I sit and reminisce Over what you've left behind Within this cedar~lined chest Lay momentos of your life Treasures that had touched your heart While you were Mother and Wife Neatly folded with great care Lay your wedding gown of white Satin, lace and pearl adorned It's such a beautiful sight My fingers trembled slightly As they brushed a velvet box The lid softly squeaked open Yielding the biggest of rocks It sparkled in the sunshine Just like your eyes used to do A golden band worn with pride A pledge of your love so true I came across your Bible The pages dog~earred and worn Preserved and pressed within it A single rose dried and torn A gleaming golden locket Perfumed letters galore Snapshots of special moments That were never shared before A treasure chest of your love A most precious gift to give I will cherish it always For as long as I shall live © Poet In Pink |

This is precious Pinkalope! I realize I'm "unique". But I have found that reading your poetry and letting it move me also in terms of shades of pink adds a deeper level of enjoyment. ~L |
