Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2017-06-09 02:04 PM

For richer or poorer,
in sickness and in health,
we vowed ten years ago
to love each other.
And we have,
through that and much more.
We have seen the best
and the worst in each other.
We’ve raised a daughter,
and had grandbabies.
We have traveled many miles
and seen beautiful landscapes.
You raced a motorcycle,
I wrote a book of poetry.
You got pigeons
and your first cat.
I got a dog.
And through all the changes,
rearranges and ups and downs,
we’ve hung tough
and believed in our love
to get us through.
And if we could do it over
there are things we’d change;
things we shouldn’t have said
or done to each other.
We have learned to forgive
and move on together.
Funny how it sometimes seems
we have been together forever
with no end in sight,
and other times
we’re still just getting started.
All I know for sure
is that I built my world
around you
and without you I’d be lost.
I’m looking forward
to the next ten years with you,
come what may,
and I’ll love you always.

Very Cool, my friend - at 10 years of marriage, you've graduated and got everything newly wed behind, and now can truly enjoy the togetherness, come what may.

Wish y'all the best of all the upcoming years.

Sunshine! How nice to see you!
To be real honest, I was referring to those "just getting started" as those times
when I just look at him and think to myself, "Who the hell are you?" ~L

Thanks Jimmy!
We're an old married couple now. He is 8 years older than me and sometimes when we are out I'll call him my Dad. He hates that.
