I was left standing
betwixt a feeling and a truth
between the yearning and the fact
                    is a crack
I, teetering in the middle
of both sides of the canyon
I wanted to jump and
                    bridge the gap
can’t do it, can’t do it
can't cross, can't cross
to either side
                   stuck in limbo
can't make the jump
afraid everything will crash and burn
crash and burn, crash and burn
                    dammit to hell and back
don't look down, nothing to see
pick the best spot to jump
leap into the air toward the right side
which is right, which is right
amid the falsehoods and the true
amid the true and the less perfect
amid the aura and the action
amid the longing and the need
do it, do it, just do it

quote:
"I was left standing
betwixt a feeling and a truth"
Many of us have stood on that precipice Mr. Bolton, contemplating 'what to do'. We know how feelings can be deceiving, whether from our hearts or our heads. Some of us have survived the decision-making process, others sleep beneath the stones.

Insightful writing.

Pass the Glade if you're going to do that here...

It has been my experience, my friend, that feelings can get you in trouble, whereas the truth merely is what it is and has to be accepted. And I being a very feeling oriented person, find that a hard pill to swallow. ~L

I agree, Lori, and I am of the same way. My feelings are elevated too much, and they stand in my way of being happy at times.

I empathize with this. Stuck in my own private limbo, I can't even attempt to write
