Do you ever think of me
as often as I do you?
Do you sometimes feel alone
as I'm alone and blue?

Does your heart sometimes cry out
for love and there is none?
Have you grown old and wish instead
that you again were young?

Remember when the two of us
would walk around the lake?
Under a starlit canopy
a kiss, was ours to take

Our firm embrace revealed our love
that somehow we misplaced
and through the years had disappeared
lost without a trace

Do you ever think of me
as often as I do you?

you wax romantic in this one Phineas. I think we sometimes wonder this in our relationships as a matter of course. We wonder if our other half is as emotionally involved with us as we are with them. It has been my experience that the fairer sex carries the emotional weight in most relationships. ~L

Thanks for reading and your nice comment Lori Rhoden, which included some keen wisdom and experience.
One should avoid getting too attached to anyone unless they also feel the same towards you. It's hard to do that sometimes because both don't always fall in love. It's been said that "one-sided expectations can mentally destroy you" and for some, that's true. It's only human to get "attached" though and we willingly put our heads on the chopping block hoping the other won't swing the axe.

Many thanks again.

Ahhh . . . I have a feeling most of us have shared this kind of feeling and have uttered those words verbally or mentally.

You're right about that Mr. Bolton. Sometimes, in our quieter moments, we can think too much and we begin to miss those who were once such an integral part of our life.

Thanks for your comment Sir.
