Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2017-04-24 05:52 AM

Like the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz,
I hide my human frailties behind a curtain because
I’m gooseflesh filled with jelly,
with knots of fear in my belly.
I don’t want anyone to see
it’s not really me
out in front
taking the brunt.
My biggest fear that haunts me,
it isn’t being alone that daunts me.
What scares me out of my mind,
is the feeling that I find
someone is there
when there is nothing but air.
Alone I’d gladly be,
if I felt it was just me.
It is probably my imagination playing tricks
or my paranoia getting its kicks.
Whichever way it works,
It’s just one of my quirks.
I hope nobody ever sees
the knocking of my knees.

Ah Lori, you spoke for many of us herein. We all have that feeling of inner turmoil about things going on in our lives.. Letting it out as you have here is a good thing.

It's difficult to feel alone when even the darkness casts a shadow. Rather amazing how we internalize our fears at times. It's what keeps us from being free. If we place them deep enough, our fears can become manifest. Desire can do the same things to us that fear can if we're not free to satisfy them.

Honest and thought provoking writing Lori Rhoden. I hope you can soon embrace what it is that craves your attentions.

Dearest PU,
Thank you so much for the insightful response. I will pray for a moment of clarity that it will pull my head out of my woes and set my sights again. ~L
