Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Variegated green lines the horizon.
Tree tops sporting spring foliage
stand stark against the storm a commin’ blue sky
Winter wheat growing its own lush green,
just tall enough to ripple in the wind,
fill the fields.
By the side of the road
a lone tree suddenly sneezes,
peppering the sky with Redwing blackbirds.

Me too Yann, I think I enjoy the greens of spring just as much, if not more, than the flowers. ~L

Could be whittled into a haiku for all it's natural beauty.

PU, Driving home from Easter lunch, with my parents at the retirement home, was the material for this poem. The inspiration came when those blackbirds suddenly flew out of the tree in front of me. I swear the first thing that came to mind was that it looked like the tree sneezed course ground black pepper. Now you have the rest of the story...
