What used to be
on my old ‘45 tank shift
would dazzle some today

Manual spark advance
on the left grip
throttle on the right

Heel and toe clutch pedal
on the lower left
brake pedal on lower right

Hardtail frame in the rear
springer suspension up front
Leather bags and fringed seat

There were still a few Indians
with skirted fenders
and a great in-line engine

But that old ‘45
made me feel so alive
*“and  the chicks were free”

*just a touch from Dire Straits "Money For Nothing"

As a kid of 12, I had a "Whizzer" motor kit on a balloon-tired 28" frame. My first motorcycle was a "Hindenburg Hercules", a German bike with a 125cc Sachs engine. It was much faster than the 125cc "Hummers" that Harley built for awhile. I have a much more comfortable ride these days, but it's not as much fun as those first ones were.

Thanks for your comment Mr. Bolton. I appreciate your visit.

That's a great attitude to have Lori Rhoden, but as a young man with 'wheels', sometimes it was the other way around!

Thanks for your insightful (if not revealing) comment.
