Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2017-03-24 07:24 AM

In the black before dawn
lightning teases the southern sky
with temptations of
much needed moisture.
The early spring sprouting’s
and trees festooned in blooms
all thirst from the mild winter’s
lack of snow and ice.
Hearty weeds with purple blossoms
race to claim real-estate in clusters
that magically multiply in the night.
Winds that howled and clattered
and battered yesterday,
are raising their voices again.
Great gusts gathering debris
to bang and bump in the dark.
But all the blustering is in vain,
we’ll not see a drop of rain
by the break of day.
Possibly by noon
we’ll see a drop or two,
although chances are low.
More likely come Monday,
we’ll have snow.

Whatever the weather, whatever the weeds, to sing of them and place them in poetry with such gentility Lori Rhoden, makes this reader feel like you could find humility in a hurricane.

Pass the Glade if you're going to do that here...

I think I like your weather report better than
the weather person, Lori.

Hello, Lori, was glad to get this "real" weather report. Good to see you also.
