I sat there eating my oatmeal . . . Eh, you see what happened.

words drip from my mouth
no mater how fast I chew
as I spoon poetry from the bowl
some letters fall undigested
onto the table where I sit
to form other, unused phrases
paragraphs of shoeing a horse
the hardscrabble words frown
at what the words have made
not one poem in the lot
but they are stuck where they are
cannot rearrange themselves
upon the hard tabletop
in the meantime I chomp on
absorbing poetry elite
suddenly I hear a scream
look down from whence it came
as I bite down on senryu's
I scrape unhappy words
into my hands and gently
drop them into the bowl
of poetry porridge
where they happily
gave me five sonnets
and one blushing limerick

Hah! Thank you Blues, very much appreciated. New meaning? I think I hear a snickering coming on from those creative poets elite.

Heeeheheee...
Try stake and potato, I bet that would make for some beefy verses.

Your humor is better than lumpy oatmeal,
and I love lumpy oatmeal...

Nice one, JP

Seems like your great, imaginative poetry is a hit JerryPat2, so I'll add my own accolades to it! It's said that Magnetic Poetry was created from a spill of alphabet soup. I've spilled plenty, but it never inspired me to do anything but clean it up! I guess that's why I'm still renting.

Pass the Glade if you're going to do that here...please!

Jerry,

very nice write, I miss the poetry stew of this place and want to get back into the pot but being out so long its not easy. seems to me you still have a lot to write and mix in this pot. as long as your pen is ready to stir don't say goodbye its a nice place to write your fill even if not everyone bites.

Looks like your stew really hit the spot Jerry! Nice thing about oatmeal, if you leave it long enough it can substitute for concrete. ~L
