Mimi With the Red Umbrella

Once a young French girl
stole my heart
and ran away to Paris without me,
I was young too and knew what to do,
I went to Paris too,
I found her sitting in a Little Parisian café
along the way to see the Eiffel Tower on a rainy day
we proceeded to the Eiffel Tower together
walking quicky in increment weather,
both seeking safety under her red umbrella,
we both got wet, it was a small umbrella,
she laughed at me and said I looked like a wet rat,
I smiled at her and said she looked like a sexy cat,
time progressed as we shared our first summer
having lots of fun in Paris rain and Paris sun,
we were a match for about a year I'll say,
everyday we'd laugh and play
until one day Pierre stole her heart
and Mimi took her red umbrella and went away.

Gotta watch those red umbrellas, James.

Such a colorful poem.  Sounds like a day you never wanted to end.

Well you found her and shared moments even for a while - those you can keep and treasure. Like the phrase..better to have loved and lost...etc...Maybe in another time, who knows.
