She attracts me...
when she's gone
I'm empty inside

Every sound reverberates
as in an empty room,
conscious of myself only

But then, not long after
they begin to taunt me
the little ones that know me

...and my weaknesses

Twisting and distorting me
from the inside out
until I scream out for release,
prostrating myself before them

...loosen the cinch

Climb back into the chair,
light a cigarette...

Look out the window,
follow the sun
to the hardwood floor.

Then take another drag
smoke fills the beam of light
that skewers the glass panes,
like the way she pierces my soul

she attracts me...
and I am helpless to resist her

Oh my, yes, yes indeed, I have so been there where your poems' words resides upon this page. There is nothing to be done about it except to await her return for however many hours, or days, she cares to remain with you. Yes!

There's a lot of sadness here, still I can feel a glimmer of hope for her return..and that day will come, don't give up.

this is quite sad, Bluesy , emptiness is a bad companion, when someone leaves, this poem is full of tears as i can feel, don't let emotion emerge you too much
except for such penning

have a good day

Yesss! That was amazing! A sensual murmur that was, just stepped out of the shower, fresh. Helpless is sweet agony... Excellent write. ~L
