Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Tuesday arrived much too early
after a night of bedtime rotisserie-
snoozus interruptus agitateum.
Drowsy drags at my eyelids like
window shades pulled against
the setting sun.
A furrowed brow
frames a fuzzy brain of muddle.
Coffee conjures cogitation
of a mantra.
“Back to bed”, fills my head
as auto pilot gets me ready for work.
Makeup camouflages comatose
as I dress a step above pajamas.
I slug along
too tired to leave a trail.
I drag to my desk
and my oh so comfy chair.
The battle begins in earnest
as alertness drowns in despair.
More coffee!
More coffee!
Comes the battle cry!
Arise, arise oh drooping eyes!
Be filled with the bright of day.
Get this derriere in gear
and send me on my way.
Let’s get this ball a rolling
its going to be a long, long day

I can certainly sympathize with you, because I have been having trouble sleeping nights, and it is next to impossible to even attempt a nap.

my problem about sleeping early is I wake up too early, Try as I might to count sheep, stars, cars, all the things I can think of - nothing works, might as well get up, write a poem. Which does not also work, as it gets me sleepy amd the circle comes 'round agan

I suspect every day is a "long, long day" when they start like this well-documented one. But we know you're a woman and we hear you "roar".

You do what you must til' you don't have to anymore. Isn't this the point where your kin call the funeral director?

Caught this one Lori Rhoden just before it slipped under the mat to the next page!

A poem within a poem! This I quote most will readily relate!

Pass the Glade if you're going to do that here...

Thanks PU,
Things can be pretty slow some days and staying awake is near to impossible. I love my job when I'm doing it but when I'm not...
just shoot me...a shot of expresso. ~L
