   Winter Memories

New-fallen snow lays
as spun silver in the
  Winter moonlight.
A chill wind makes
the bone-trees dance.
The brittle sound
of dead branches
and icicles falling
pierces the lonely
   heart.
One remembers
Love and Spring
as fickle friends
along this timeless
forest path to
  nowhere.

Ahhh . . . And it was seventy-six down here in the swamp, Bruce, and I'm loving it. I know you are happy with your super cold weather and the beautiful snow falling down. Eh . . . To each his own . . . Enjoyed your offering tonight!

I struggle with P.T.S.D./depression/de-realization, etc. ... This is the first I've written anything in rather a long time.

Thank you for the pleasant comment on this, my most recent li'l "poetic scribble."

"One remembers Love and Spring as fickle friends"
Indeed I do Bruce and yes, those two can be "fickle", but then I wouldn't have them any other way. I think you'd agree that "Love" blends well in any season.

Lovely poetry my friend. I know PTSD can be troubling, but you haven't let it muscle in on your creativity and this poetry of yours is proof of that.

Stay well and write much! Good to see you back here.

Beautiful poetry Bruce, with beautiful imagery. I always did like to see the changing of the seasons.
