An Unfrozen Heart

Inflexible, intractable, even adamantine
is an ice-chiseled heartís refrigerated sunshine,
chilling its warmth to freeze its rays
to block Loveís penetrating singeing blaze.

If gloom within such heart does loom
as an unlived mansion with unlit rooms,
then one ray of Loveís illumined heat
will unleash hot breaths of Lifeís light beat
deicing, defrosting floors and doors
of this mansionís wind frozen corridors.

Then gloom canít rest in Lifeís light heart.
Thereís no room left from end to start.
For the Heart now yearns for light displays
of a Loveís penetrating singeing blaze.

Ahhh . . . I know the heart's "singeing blaze," for sure. Like this enlightened poem of love, pure love. Sweet.

My old Drill Instructor had a frozen heart, or so we all thought. On completion of boot camp he took us out and bought us all a round, shook our hands and told us a few jokes. Talk about letting the sun shine in
