As we slept cozy and warm
beneath our quilts,
the frigid crept with her crystals
across the prairie paradise.
The night silently shivered
as we dreamed in snug comfort.
Creatures burrowed and curled up
against the cold
huddle together.
Predators in winter coats
hunt in frosty fields
beneath a starry sky.
A bit of moon
slips across the blackness
as it waits upon the sun
to raise its rays of heat
that will melt the frost away.

Now you've painted a beautiful picture Lori, with your carefully plotted words that I find greatly enjoyable!

One interesting thought I get from this piece is that we can be either, the huddler or the hunter... I'm more of a huddler
