"C'mon Handel, it's getting late!"
Sajun called to his friend
"Yo Mama wants you home by ten,
or with a strap for you she'll wait!"

Out from behind the seat of a car
Handel crept with his 'bag of gold'.
His eyes would tell a tale
of how a youth of twelve grows old.

A sordid life is cheap you know,
and money makes it less.
Handel's wealth came in 'grains of sand'
ten dollars worth at best.

Just then sharp rays of silver gleamed
and Handel fell face down...
His body lay in a crimson pool,
deposed of its backstreet crown.

Moments later, a figure appears,
clutching a bag and a knife.
"Comin' honey", Sajun cries...
Then quietly goes home to his wife.

...just bein' Bluesy

Gold materializes from the "'grains of sand'," and once found causes untold dangers, even death from those with the intent to steal.
