When the evil ones kill,
we strap them to beds
and inject their existence away.
When governments kill:
That is simply collateral damage.

Yes all governments find phrases to soften the impact of a misplaced bomb which destroys a children’s hospital for example. Friendly fire is another phrase that comes to mind.

Personally I’m against the death penalty; it certainly isn’t a deterrent, which renders execution to one of vengeance for the crime and the law should be based on justice, not vengeance
If just one innocent person is wrongly executed, it makes the whole messy business untenable.
A thinking mans poem, congrats!
