Fair to middlin' of nowhere

My idle mind doesn’t
idle.
It slowly accelerates scenarios
into white knuckled conclusions.
Daydreams default to nightmares.
Revved into the red in rpms
before I know it.
All tasks mundane
are ripe for idle highjacking.
I face them
with anxiety and dread.
It drives me crazy.

When we get our mind into high gear, we can certainly lose our thoughts completely.

I know of some who would consider this to describe a good day.

Loving Linny Jean is poetry.

Ari, I realize there are those that are far worse off than me. I know there are those who can relate too. ~L

I didn't mean for my reply to be educational Lori, it was merely the first thing that came to my mind when reading. Like you, I also know that there are enough people in the world who make it safe to say that some will and some will not "relate"...to anything, including my replies.

Loving Linny Jean is poetry.

No such thing as an idle mind. I'd tell you to control the thoughts, but you'd just say: 'You have no clue.'

Well Red, let's just say easier said than done. Thoughts are slipperier than greased pigs. ~L

I hear that.. Funny how thoughts work, especially when stillness ends up making you hold on tighter.
