Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2016-08-02 02:18 PM

Memories with their inherent emotions haunt me.
Skeletons rattle like wind chimes
and I am swept away to a land broken and bereft
Hindsight gives a sympathetic look
but cannot break the spell of darkness.
Caught off guard by this latest conjuring
I wonder what my spirits are trying to say.
Deliver me from the demons that would claim me.
I’m tired of this tug of war
that would freeze me to my seat.
These troublesome thoughts I can’t defeat.
I seek escape in the sweet peace of sleep
which offers only respite but no cure.
Maybe to quiet those noisy bones
I need to take a different stance.
Instead of trying to bury them,
perhaps I should ask them to dance.

You got it, Lori. Ask them to dance and jitterbug them out of your life once and for all. I did. You can.

Jitterbug!? Ha! I believe I'll square dance if it is all the same to you. ~L

Nothing to be sorry for my friend. Jitterbug before my time and a wild one to do. I did not mean to imply I didn't appreciate the thought. hugs ~L

This is so powerful, so touching, and so haunting. I'm haunted...by bipolar disorder, lithium, frightening thoughts that make it impossible to relax. It's not me, but I'm frightened and empathise. I know too many people, too close who would relate. If we could dance it out of town, wouldn't that be wonderful?

Your ending says it all, and hindsight is double edged, a learning curve that comes with regrets.

Finally got your book. It came today. What an ordeal. My debit card wasn't acting right.

Blues, I'm a firm believer that you go through hard times so you can then relate to and help someone else. I may have to dance around on paper with them dang bones. ~L
