The line "Brown eyes, hair cut as short as your skirt" doesn't rhyme with anything, but I don't care. It could well be my favorite line.

Speaking in Tongues

Headline on the sky:
You sure know how to kill a guy
Just to bring him back to life
No real wonder why
It comes to me by and by
You'd be one hell of a wife
To wake up to
And what with all those funny things you do

Tonight I'm undoing the laces of
The heart of a girl who blessed me with traces of

Rouge lips
sinking all of my ships
Guess you had your fun
I've been known to trip
Down the coastline of your hips
Speaking in tongues
Sighing in code that
Every little eyelash I'm diving from
I'm just falling, falling
To the bottom of the rung

The finer the face
The sweeter it is to taste
Your honey of happiness
Well I could drink a case
Man I couldn't care less
If the whole world
Died screaming by just a word from my girl
What would it matter
If it all turns to tatters
Just so I could stay forever with her

Brown eyes
Hair cut as short as your skirt
Guess I'll have my fun
Silently as I slip
Slowly traveling fingertips
Speaking in tongues
Kissing in rhyme for
Every smile that I'm warming to
I'm just falling falling
Wishing I was the man who

Could mean as much to you as you do to me
But what do I know anyway
I've still a million dreams I've yet to see
Set free
Free as can be
Oh but it'd be nice if you're the one and only dream of mine to come true
Coming undone, speaking in tongues
For you my dear
The righteous one, a new morning's sun
who killed my fear

Headline on the sky:
You sure know how to fill a guy
His heart drunk on the good life
No real wonder why
It comes to pass by and by
That you're one hell of a knife
And I gladly wander along your edge
One hell of a wife
To follow every night back into bed
I could say a million things about how I found the one
But in the end it's all just speaking in tongues

Yeah, you're right, SL, we all wind up "speaking in tongues" when we fall for that one girl/woman who can instill within ourselves a bit of servitude. You spelled it out.

Yes, "tongues"...The French connection. Stimulating dialect.

Loving Linny Jean is poetry.

I'd bet my balls to a penny that you are in love. You have made it, win or lose.
