Fair to middlin' of nowhere

What we often don’t understand
is that we can hate…
as a knee jerk,
not thought about,
what we don’t understand.

What we don’t understand
we are more apt to shun
than approach with curiosity.

The differences in society,
so deeply ingrained
and trained,
from birth to dirt,
to separate
along a mosaic of lines,
our curious minds
ask the wrong questions
of themselves.

Yep, you are absolutely correct, Lori. I know I have, many times, knee-jerked into reaction when I didn't understand the whole picture. I am sure it may even happen again, but maybe my knee-jerk reaction won't be a bad as they have in the past. Good poem which gives the reader thoughts to pursue . . .

Thanks Jerry,
I keep thinking about all the haters out there that don't realize how much they are a part of the problem. ~L

Of course. I taught my children my version of "right and wrong". I presume other parents teach their version and kids with no parents can make their own. I'm not overlooking the laws of Man or God. Paying too much attention to the former rather than the latter was not included in my version. Folks may not like "haters", but if they hate "haters"...clearly they become one themselves. (Good Haters?)

Bless your heart Ari! You got to the heart of what I was trying to say about hate and hating haters and then who can tell the difference. ~L
