Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Grinding it into second
with a burned out clutch
lurching along in my gray
bundle of nerves mobile.
A lot of miles under my hood
and I’ve just sat way too long
letting her go to hell.
She’s hard to start,
won’t run in the heat
and smokes.
On the rearview hangs
regrets, guilt and shame
in a handmade sachet
scented in the lowest
of self-esteems.
There also hangs
a teardrop crystal
of joy and hope
full of my rainbow dreams.
Just to remind me
where I’m going.

Didn't think there were any of those old timers left (the car, not you). The  smokers are even more rare. Entertaining poetry Lori.

Loving Linny Jean is poetry.

"scented in the lowest

Ahhh . . . A bit too hard on yourself in my opinion. But liked the optimism following these lines.
