Fourth of July
Independence Day
Patriotism on parade
Ah, not so much anymore
Zoe and I took a walk this morning
Like I do every day
Flags adorned some houses
Not so many as before
The Flag
Symbol of Freedom
Thing is
Freedom is being taken away from us
Intrusive law by intrusive law
Can't blame it all on
Hussein
Been going on before
His disgraceful behavior
Who's to blame for the eroding
Of the greatest Nation ever to have been created
Two culprits
Greedy citizens
Hand out
Wanting money for nothing
('scuse me Dire Strits
fer plagiarizing)
wanting more money for nothing
started hearing about the
greedy rich
the greedy rich in our face
for decades
more and more people
hands out
wanting that
money for nothing
after awhile
there was no stigma attached to receiving handouts
we're all in the system somehow
uh
who else to blame
when talking about our Eroding Freedom
why, politicians of course
corrupt politicians
both sides of the aisle
mainly democrats
can't make myself capitalize democrats
since FDR
overwhelmed by politicians
not in tune with
America the Beautiful
No
The democrat party
Taken over by hard-core socialists
If not out and out
Communist
The people have been beguiled
Have closed their eyes
Stopped up their ears
To the damage done by career politicians

It has taken
One man
Hussein
To open our eyes
And behold the Great Country
Being laid to waste
Is it too late
To right the sinking ship
Time
Only time
Will tell

A perspective shared by many Jerry. Your quoted close summed it up quite well. What we ultimately decide to do with the "time" we have will be telling.

Always a good read Jerry.

Thank you Ari, for dealing with my rant . . . I'm just disgusted . . .
