Immigration, merely mention the word
and the cry of racialist shouts at you.
A sprinkle of salt on your lunch plate
Will add to the flavour
Pour on the whole contents of the salt cellar
and you spoil the meal

Largely it’s a question of numbers
Managed sensibly migration lubricates culture
Mass migration threatens its very existence
Every nation needs time to absolve
And newcomers need time to adjust
Immigration has to be controlled
For the benefit of both.

The English nation is small in land mass
It will fit nearly three times into Texas
Many European nations are larger than the UK
We simply don’t have the room for mass migration
We have to control Immigration or tensions will increase
To a level where communities will be destroyed.

Great informative poetry, Cari. The thing is, it isn't immigration, it is invaders . . .

Who's responsible? Didn't anyone see this coming? (The structure looks like poetry, but reads like it's intended for discussion)

More feelings and fewer words please

Jerry, if you mean by ‘invaders’ illegal immigrants, then yes we have those too. Some are willing to risk their lives to reach our shores. But Brexit refers to the free passage of EU member states to work and live anywhere in Europe, but it’s not a level playing field. Larger countries have much more space to accommodate immigrates than we do.
The American media in general believe that Britain has moved to the right but it has much more to do with the age of the voters than any political surge. Sure we have a right wing party and elements in the conservative wing, but together there is no way they could have produce a leave vote.
I appreciate all comments whatever your particular views are and thank you all for reading.

Cari.
