There are no strangers in the world
Just friends we have yet to meet
No dangers in the world
But the lies we have to keep

A truth and a lie coincide
One sets us free
And the other kills us inside
You said it just to abide
But was it real
Or just a way to stay for the ride
Not concerned with how I feel
Going back and forth just like the tide

Now what does that make you?
A wishy washy flippidy floppidy
Hair all moppidy
Raggity ol haggity
Who never lived properly
Keepin the truth as your personal property
I hope you don't use this template
Cause you'd be living a life I call a mockery

we are who we are, nothing we can change, we live our lives the very best way that we can...it is impossible to live up to the expectations of others, and we, theirs...

that is what this spoke to me....
beautifully written...

Truth is just the right thing to do..the other option stirs up inner conflict that eventually becomes who you are.  Ugh no thank you.  On the other hand we can always exercise our fifth amendment..speaking the truth does not mean we are obligated to answer everyone and every question.  Silence is golden.

Excellent poem..

But Slim? There's ways around it........

Just the other day my wife was standing in front of the full length mirror in our bedroom, and she said "look at me, everything's sagging and I've put on all these extra pounds, you've got to say something nice about me so I'll feel better!"

I said, "your eyesight's perfect!!"

true love never looks after it's own interests

Honesty is sometimes based on how much truth one can tolerate. Narrow minds with hot tempers invite lies. ~L
