The first kiss

Softly given, softly taken

Inquiring intensity, seeking

for the fires yet to come

You lead, I follow

You teach, I learn

Oh yes indeed, I well remember those teaching and learning days.

Neither could teach, so we both learned. It came so natural, we both went on to teach others. We felt it made the world go 'round a bit nicer, like your poetry Cari.

More feelings and fewer words please

When I was 16, I had an 18 year old girlfriend.

This poem reminds me of that situation.

Thanks for the memories,Cari

Thanks for reading guys.

Not every such a blissful encounter can be pleasantly mind-blowing.
I asked a girl out for dinner and she suggested a restaurant in Camden Town (London) which was a favourite of hers and I agreed.

“Here we are” she said.

I stared at the name above the door.  La Creperie.
OMG!! I must have been so keen on the date I forgot to mention my loathing of garlic, the smell, the taste and even the sight of the bloody little bulb.

While I settled for the poached Turbot, she happily munched her way through the menu.

Later at her front door she flung her arms around me and her lips met mine in a kiss she had evidently borrowed from a second rate movie, you know the one I mean, the type that searches for your bloody tonsils.

I did something heroic that night in that I manfully resisted the overpowering urge to throw up. Needless to say it was a very short affair, one night in fact.

Cari.
