(sorry this pic is blurry. Wont transfer well from photobucket? It is the view of my woods through my kitchen storm door.)

Nature makes no promise sworn, it does not keep.

On warming ground prepared for green
Spring sang songs to bulbs of jonquils,
"Make new change, from falls retreat"-
But greening stems, and blossoms bend
Sink to earth, all bound, with winter weight.

I stand at ease inside my kitchen door,
Coffee cup in hand, and view with joy
The passion in the scene of what is framed.
Knowing daffodils will rise again when spring-
Comes whistling-- its warming song repeat.

Deeper in the hardwood Forrest,
Deer are on the move to find their feed.
I can see their silhouettes, connecting, tree to tree-
kicks of May-born fawns, disturbing inner peace.
Nature makes no promise sworn, it cannot keep.

Yep, winter does indeed have a cold grip on parts of the land,
thereby making it a long winter. You seem to have a very nice
view of it, however, through your kitchen door.

Nothing quite like skiing over to the neighbors for an icy outdoor BBQ in the Spring! Love the view!

If I were more than I am, I'd see things differently instead of the same all the time.

I feel a little smug because spring is fairly with us on the Romney Marsh but then we seem to have a different climate than the rest of the UK. as one guy put it.

"The World, according to the best geographers, is divided into Europe, Asia, Africa, America, and Romney Marsh", wrote the Reverend Richard Harris Barham, writing as Thomas Ingoldsby, in The Ingoldsby Legends, his gothic tales of superstition and folklore, in the 1840s.

I really envy your view from your window though; Deer’s and Foals, Wow!! I have only sheep, lots of sheep, to look at; ok they’re all gods’ creatures but bloody boring to look at.

You listen intensely to the whispers of that spectacular Nature in which you seem embedded, dear Ford.

You give us a moment of peace and beauty. Thank you.

Love,

Thank you, Friends...

The weather in the mountains of north central, Pa. is always unpredictable...but not really..

I know not to plant tomatos until the 1st. of June..or else I have to cover them..

I adjust my life to what is, and what I see.

The poem is what I saw that morning..It was what nature promised for that day.

Thank you all, again for reading.
